Hi everyone, welcome to the first online urban agriculture course from CultivAction Solidarity Cooperative. Erik Chevrier, Ph.D. and Mohammed Al-Duais will be your instructors for the course.
In our second session, participants will explore how to build and maintain healthy soil so that plants can thrive. Since soil is the foundation of successful gardening and farming, we’ll begin with an introduction to its basic components and functions. The session will then focus on practical strategies for improving soil health in urban environments—such as courtyards, balconies, small spaces, and compact farms.
