Welcome to Class 9 of the Urban Agriculture Certificate Course from CultivAction Solidarity Cooperative. Today’s session, Planting Fall Crops, will explore what to grow as the season changes. We will discuss timing, crop selection, and techniques to ensure a productive and extended harvest into the cooler months.
Where to Meet
We will meet at the farm at Loyola Campus.
The Loyola Farm is located at the back of Concordia University, Loyola Campus – TB building. 7079 Rue de Terrebonne, Montreal, Quebec H4B 1E1.
In our ninth session, we will focus on Planting Fall Crops. Participants will learn what can still be seeded at this time of year, how to transplant perennial plants, and how to manage a garden or farm as the season shifts. We will also explore season-extension strategies, such as building cold boxes, to keep harvests going into the cooler months. Finally, we will connect these practices to broader conversations about food sovereignty and community food systems.
