FAQs

I’m a student at Concordia in the faculty of Arts and Science, that already pays a fee-levy to CultivAction, do I still need to pay a membership fee?

NO! ASFA students do not need to pay an additional membership fee. There is a special membership category for ASFA fee-levy paying students, as detailed above.

What is a fee-levy anyways? A fee levy is a per-credit fee that students agree to pay, in addition to their tuition fees, to fund community organizations that serve students. CultivAction’s $0.35/credit fee levy was approved through an ASFA student referendum in Fall 2023. Each Arts and Science Student contributing just a few dollars to CultivAction every semester, provides us with an operating budget, so that we can carry out activities that benefit Concordia students and the wider community. Other well known groups that depend on student fee levies are: The People’s Potato, The CSU, Le Frigo Vert and The Hive Free Lunch, among many others

How can I pay my membership fees: You can either pay your membership fees by sending us an e-transfer of $12 to csa@cultivaction.ca ($10 member fee + $2 transition fee). Please set the password as “localfood” and write your full name in the memo line. You can also pay in cash! Find a worker-member during volunteer hours or one of our activities and pay $10 in person.
