La ferme Loyola

La ferme Loyola est un terrain d'environ 5000 pieds carrés situé sur le campus de Loyola de l'Université Concordia.  City Farm School. lucky to grow food at this spacevafter a hiatus due to the pandemic.

2022 was Coop CultivAction’s first growing season growing tasty greens and veggies for our  programme ASC (community supported agriculture baskets). We began growing food for the Hive Café Coop in an effort to make a hyper local farm to plate option for Concordia students. We also Launched workshops and food growing courses.

All these programs and more will happening this year. We look forward to connecting with the earth and the community for another bountiful growing season.

Funky Fungi

Funky Fungi is co-op member Nico Schutte’s mushroom grow operation based out of CultivAction’s Loyola farm space. Outdoors, they cultivate red wine caps, oyster, lion’s mane, and shiitake mushrooms in outdoor garden beds. Funky Fungi also specializes in log-inoculation with various other mushroom varieties, most notable: chicken of the woods, reishi, shiitake, and lion’s mane. For indoor production, Nico focuses on mushroom genetics in the form of liquid culture, petri dishes, and grain spawn.

The Concordia Greenhouse

We are growing microgreens at the Concordia Greenhouse. In this space, we are also growing all of the seedlings needed to fulfill the Loyola farm and the Ferme Urbaine Duff-Court. We are also using this space to experiment with four seasons growing even in the winter months.

We may produce extra seedling for sale to the public, please stay tuned for more information.
