Preparations for the fall season:

We are fortunate for all the previous classes that each Saturday the weather is nice and we kept learning by doing. Tomorrow looks rainy so we will meet at Sainte Anne de Bellevue,  Chantale chalet, we will go through some theory and discussion then we will visit the farm, mainly for harvesting and maintenance.

The activities:

• Meeting at Chantale chalet,
• Introduction and check-in,
• Going through presentations and watching short videos,
• Going to the farm to spot any pest or disease, doing some maintenance and harvesting,
• Seeding fall crops, you are welcome to bring your seeds or choose seeds from our seed bag,
• Introducing the participant to a permanent chicken coop for the neighbour, if he is available,
• Highlighting the importance of pollinators for the garden and having a closer look at the garlic shives flower,
• Seeds harvesting, processing, labelling and saving (please bring small zip pages or any containers/plastic bags),
• Wrap-up
