Course<\/strong> is a hands-on program for beginner and intermediate growers who want to build practical skills, deepen ecological knowledge, and grow food confidently in urban and suburban spaces. Whether you\u2019re just starting out or looking to refine your practice, this course offers <strong data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"931\">seasonal, experiential learning grounded in real growing conditions<\/strong> at CultivAction\u2019s Senneville farm.<\/p><p data-start=\"970\" data-end=\"1425\">Participants develop the skills to cultivate food in a variety of urban environments \u2014 from yards and balconies to community and collective gardens \u2014 while applying concepts learned both on-site and in their own growing spaces. Each student receives an <strong data-start=\"1223\" data-end=\"1254\">individual plot at the farm<\/strong>, accessible during class sessions and designated volunteering hours, allowing for a season-long, hands-on experience managing and harvesting crops from start to finish.<\/p><p data-start=\"1427\" data-end=\"1836\">Along the way, you\u2019ll be introduced to <strong data-start=\"1466\" data-end=\"1481\">agroecology<\/strong> \u2014 an approach to growing food that works with nature while strengthening communities. Agroecology emphasizes healthy soil, biodiversity, ecological balance, and the idea that how we grow food shapes access, equity, and care for the land. You\u2019ll see how even a small garden contributes to larger food systems, local resilience, and community well-being.<\/p><p data-start=\"1838\" data-end=\"2193\">Just as important as what we grow is how we grow together. The course fosters a <strong data-start=\"1918\" data-end=\"1951\">supportive learning community<\/strong>, where participants share successes, challenges, experiments, and discoveries throughout the season.
